If you have been following Thinking Food Jobs for a while, you will already know that I have a fascination with food-shaped vehicles. If you share this fascination, here are two opportunities for you:
Wienermobile Spokesperson for Oscar Meyer. Get on board a 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels for a year. The base salary is $35,600, with all hotels covered and a $150 week stipend for additional travel expenses.
Peanutter Marketing for Planter/Hormel Foods. Spend a year planning and executing 200 events promoting the Planters brand while traveling in the NUTmobile.
If food-shaped vehicles are not your thing, here are a few other jobs that I found particularly interesting this week:
The Museum of Food and Drink is looking for a museum studies or food studies student for a sixth-month assignment as Curatorial Fellow, assisting with the research and curation of an exhibition tracing the story of immigration to New York City through the lens of the food cart and its operators through four distinct historical eras. The stipend for the 20-25 hour per week fellowship is $15,000.
Indianapolis-based Complexity is hiring a host for a food and cooking show. They need a freelance host with a “calming presence and a steady hand - essentially the Bob Ross of food.”
Finally, Assisting Hands Home Care agency, has a listing for a caregiver who wants to “Learn to Cook FUN Recipes with our Elmhust (Illinois) Grandma,” for a part-time position paying $16 - $18/hour. If I ever need home care I hope my family writes a position description as loving and thoughtful as this one.
